It’s finally summer, Canada Day<\/a> is just around the corner, yet landing on a Tuesday doesn’t lend itself to a long weekend. \u00a0But it’s summer and time to celebrate, yet there may be times when you’re looking for a kick start on this summer celebration –\u00a0Forget about the therapeutic lifestyle changes and the \u201cfeel good\u201d books, here are some simple, basic things to put yourself in a good mood .. instantly!<\/p>\n

1. Relax and lie on the grass.<\/strong> That\u2019s it. Nothing more. Just lie there and do absolutely nothing, close your eyes and listen to the many different sounds. \u00a0Birds chirping, an airplane in the distance, neighbour’s sprinkler, children laughing … or listen to music. \u00a0Naturally, everyone has a song (or songs) that can change even the grouchiest mood, just make sure it’s got a summer theme, like: Walking On Sunshine<\/a>, Here Comes The Sun<\/a>, Summer of 69<\/a>, California Gurls<\/a>, Saturday in the Park<\/a>, Happy<\/a>\u00a0, or my all time favourite: \u00a0Brown Eyed Girl<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Put a pair of sunglasses<\/strong> on your pet strictly for your own enjoyment.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Make homemade popsicles<\/strong>, the simpler the better. \u00a0The Creative Blog<\/a> has some sweet recipes. The more mess you make when you’re eating, the more fun you’re having.<\/p>\n

4. \u00a0Juggle\u2026anything:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Oranges, Hershey\u2019s kisses, plastic containers, it doesn\u2019t matter what, (advice – make it soft) because unless you actually know what you\u2019re doing – you will<\/em> stink at it. The result? \u00a0You\u2019ll be laughing at your silliness and realize that it\u2019s okay to \u2018drop the ball\u2019 when you\u2019re juggling too much at once.<\/p>\n

5. \u00a0Make your own Outdoor Movie Night<\/strong>, what a great way to make memories with the kids, or a romantic night for two. \u00a0Simply grab a bed sheet, projector, some popcorn and a movie here’s the how-to<\/a>.<\/p>\n
