Downtown Stouffville<\/strong><\/span>
\nStouffville brings on the red and white by having the Main Street decorated with Canada 150 themed banners and decorative flowers. Downtown Stouffville <\/a>is celebrating Canada\u2019s birthday all summer long!<\/p>\n

Canada\u2019s 150 – Then and Now<\/strong><\/span>
\nJune 3- December 9, 2017<\/em>
\nWhat was life like in our community in the early years and how has our lifestyle changed? The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum <\/a>shows us in this special exhibit.<\/p>\n

Stronger, Freer<\/strong><\/span>
\nJune 15-June 18, 2017<\/em>
\nStronger, Freer<\/a> is an original Canada 150 play written, directed, and produced in Stouffville. It paints a portrait of a Canadian family over the course of 150 years. You can watch the play from June 15-18 at Nineteen on the Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Food Truck Frenzy<\/strong>
\nAlways a big event in downtown Stouffville, this year\u2019s Food Truck Frenzy<\/a> will have Main Street and Memorial Park packed with 20 food trucks hailing from across the GTA. The Canada 150 themed events take place June 22 and September 15th.<\/p>\n

Whitchurch-Stouffville Strawberry Festival<\/strong>
\nJune 30 – July 2, 2017<\/em>
\nThe Strawberry Festival<\/a>, Stouffville\u2019s biggest event of the year, is going to be even bigger this year. On tap is a spectacular fireworks display on Canada Day and a Canada 150 Birthday party in Memorial Park featuring Stouffville\u2019s own Motus O Dance Company<\/a> and Soldiers of Song<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Annual Stouffville Country Ribfest<\/strong>
\nAugust 11-13, 2017<\/em>
\nThere\u2019s something for everyone at the Stouffville Country Ribfest<\/a> – live music, vendors, kids\u2019 zone and most importantly ribs from your favourite local ribbers. This year\u2019s Canada 150 theme adds to the celebration.<\/p>\n

Pickering<\/span><\/h3>\n

The City of Pickering, home to our new Edgewood community<\/a>, is celebrating our country\u2019s major milestone with Canadian-themed initiatives all year long. \nPickering celebrates Canada’s birthday<\/a> with free family activities at Bay Ridges Kinsmen Park<\/a>. Complete with a Family Dance Party from 5-7 and plenty of live entertainment followed by a giant #Canada150 fireworks production!<\/p>\n

Esplanade Park Concert Series<\/strong>
\nSundays in July and August at 2pm<\/em>
\nBring your lawn chair to Esplanade Park for its concert series<\/a> and enjoy a Sunday afternoon filled with music. The first concert will be held on Sunday, July 9.<\/p>\n

Waterfront Concert Series<\/strong>
\nThursdays in July and August from 7 to 9pm<\/em>
\nAlways a favourite, and always free \u2013 this year\u2019s waterfront summer concerts<\/a> celebrate Canada\u2019s 150 in Millennium Square<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pickering Food Truck Festival<\/strong>
\nAugust 11-13, 2017<\/em>
\nThis is sure to be a big event with 50 food trucks, local artists, and the daily Food Truck Eating Challenge. The Pickering Food Truck Festival<\/a> in Esplanade Park is in support of Sick Kids Foundation.<\/p>\n

Aurora<\/span><\/h3>\n

The town of Aurora,<\/a> soon to be home to our exciting new Allegro community<\/a>, has a summer filled with new events to get patriotic and celebrate Canada\u2019s 150th birthday! Keep track of all of things happening for Canada\u2019s 150th birthday by checking the Town of Aurora\u2019s website.<\/p>\n

Canada Day Celebration in Canada’s Birthday Town<\/strong>
\nJune 30-July 1, 2017<\/em>
\nFrom Friday night’s Party in the Park<\/a>, to Saturday morning’s Canada Day Parade to the Canada Day celebrations<\/a> and fireworks that follow, Aurora celebrates in style.  And why is Aurora “Canada’s Birthday Town”? 
\nAccording to the York Region Tourism <\/a>website, “it was Aurora resident and councillor Norm Stewart who came up with the idea to throw a big street celebration on Dominion Day, July 1, to acknowledge Canada’s centennial. The celebration became an annual event and grew year after year, leading to the town receiving the handle\u201d<\/p>\n

\nHot rods, classic cars and trucks – the Canada Day Car Show <\/a>is Lambert Willson Park is one of the most popular Canada Day events in York Region.<\/p>\n

Celebrate Canada 150 with 150 Lines of Code<\/strong>
\nJuly 10 – July 14, 2017<\/em>
\nThe Aurora Public Library<\/a> is hosting a free five-day coding camp<\/a> for students to learn how to code, understand the main programming concepts and complete a project created with 150 lines of code.<\/p>\n

The Great Canadian Songbook 150<\/strong>
\nJuly 22, 2017 <\/em>
\nTaking place at the Aurora Community Centre, the Great Canadian Songbook 150<\/a> will celebrate Canadian music with an all-ages dance party in support of Kerry\u2019s Place Autism Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Concerts in the Park Series<\/strong>
\nWednesdays in July and August from 7 to 9pm<\/em>
\nThe Town of Aurora celebrates summer with eight weeks of free, live concerts in the park<\/a>. The concerts are free, but the Town of Aurora will be accepting food donations for the Aurora Food Pantry<\/a>.<\/p>\n
