The final few weeks of 2018 are upon us. In whatever ways you may celebrate the season, it’s the perfect opportunity to take that well-deserved time away from work or school and to rest and recharge. A change of surroundings - be it getting outdoors for a nature walk, winter activities like snowshoeing, and skiing, or simply visiting friends and family - has enormous benefits, helping us to disconnect. It’s time to focus on family and being good to yourself — Happy Holidays!

Home Recipes and Décor
The Best Hot Chocolate
In winter, there's nothing like a mug of hot chocolate, especially after being outside. This recipe will be adored by adults and kids alike!
INGREDIENTS (serve 4 to 6)
3 cups milk
1 cup half-and-half
¼ cup cocoa powder
½ cup sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Combine milk and half-and-half in a saucepan and heat to a simmer over medium heat. Meanwhile stir together the dry ingredients. Add the hot milk, a few teaspoons at a time, into the cocoa mixture to make a smooth paste. Scrape the cocoa paste mixture into the saucepan with the milk and simmer for 2 minutes. Stir in the vanilla and pour into cups or keep hot in a thermos. Best served with whipped cream or mini-marshmallows.
2019 Décor
2018 was the year of bold, strong colours balanced by neutrals. For 2019, earth tones are back in vogue to balance some of last year’s colour.
Deep, rich earthy hues, particularly on an accent wall or cabinetry, will act as a gorgeous compromise to accentuate your décor.
So keep it down-to-earth this year and make your 2019 chic and fabulous.
