Geranium homes captures four prestigious honours at 34th Annual BILD Awards

Congratulations to Geranium Homes, which had an outstanding showing at the 34th Annual BILD (Building Industry and Land Development Association) Awards held in April. Geranium was a Finalist in seven categories and rose to the top in four, including winning the coveted Best Places to Grow Community of the Year (low-rise) Award for The Neighbourhoods of Cardinal Point in Stouffville. The award recognizes the builder that best exemplifies Ontario’s Places to Grow Act, through which the provincial government plans for growth in a coordinated and strategic way. BILD’s P2G Award recognizes the community that represents the best example of smart growth, environmental preservation, innovative site planning, recreational amenities, streetscapes and architecture.

“This award recognizes everything that is important to our company when we have the opportunity to create a master-planned community. For Geranium Homes, The Neighbourhoods of Cardinal Point epitomizes the many facets which contribute to quality of life for our home buyers,” said Boaz Feiner, President of Geranium Homes.

Cardinal Point was envisioned as a 100-acre master-planned community within walking distance of Stouffville’s thriving Main Street and convenient to public transportation including GO services, cultural and recreational amenities in the town. The plan includes almost 30 acres of ravine with walking trails that connect the many residential phases, now totalling 800 homes. There is a large central neighbourhood park as well as two smaller parks.

Since welcoming the first residents in 2008, Geranium has offered ownership choices that range from elegant freehold and freehold-condo townhomes to spacious family-sized detached singles, bungalows and bungalow-lofts. In the current

phase of The Neighbourhoods of Cardinal Point, new homebuyers are embracing Geranium’s Uptownes, an exciting and affordable alternative to condo-apartment ownership that offers a choice of spacious back-to-back and stacked three-storey townhomes. Uptownes has the living areas that people most value in a home. At ground level, each home includes a bonus recreation room – perfect for a den, home office, playroom or gym. The main level features grand 10-foot ceilings flooding the wide-open Great Room with light. This space includes the kitchen and dining area and also a powder room. The second level includes two generously sized bedrooms, one with ensuite, and a main bath. A large rooftop

terrace, ranging in size from 279 up to 380 square feet, completes each home, providing a top floor outdoor oasis.

Plans range in size from 1,401 up to 1,639 square feet and prices start from the $364,900. Every home has a single car garage plus driveway parking. Monthly maintenance fees are just $89.

At the BILD ceremony, Geranium was also presented with Awards for winning Best Social Media Campaign (low-rise), Best E-mail Marketing Piece (low-rise) and Best Salesperson (low-rise) for Lisa Peltier at The Verandas in Port Hope.

Geranium Homes was BILD’s 2012 Home Builder of The Year and Canadian Home Builder Association’s Grand Sam Award Winner. Geranium has been developing and building family communities across Southern Ontario for 36 years. This progressive firm is known for continually going above and beyond expected standards to offer value-added master-planned communities in amenity-rich locations.
