So much to experience in Port Hope

Living in Port Hope on Lake Ontario’s waterfront has many benefits; one of these is the terrific variety of activities available. Homeowners of The Verandas by Geranium Homes can choose to golf and go boating, or hike and cycle along the picturesque Waterfront Trail. They can spend time in the area’s 200-plus acres of parkland with ball diamonds, gardens, naturalized areas, and playgrounds, or enjoy some of the best trout fishing in the province, found in the Ganaraska River.

The Verandas is located a few minutes from Port Hope’s historic downtown, named TV Ontario’s “Best Preserved Main Street.” The town has experienced gradual growth in recent years, with new residents attracted to its beautiful scenery, year-round festivals, events and abundant recreation. Antique, clothing and furniture shops share Main Street with restaurants and professional offices, all within
a short walk from The Verandas. And it’s just a 10-minute drive to Northumberland Hills Hospital in neighbouring Cobourg.

New homebuyers seeking excellent design, great value and high-level interior finishes are

drawn to The Verandas bungalow homes. With the rapid pace of sales, Geranium is building all the remaining homes, offering closing dates starting early in 2016. Designs feature covered front porches and attractive maintenance-free materials. Set on 42- and 48-foot lots, layouts of two- and three-bedroom homes have optional plans for more variety, including finished basement areas. Sizes range from 1,322 to 1,771 square feet. Prices range from $316,900 to over $400,000.

Empty nesters and professionals are finding the perfect opportunity to right-size their lifestyle, and young families appreciate the affordability of these fully detached homes. Homes built with Geranium’s excellent construction standards are Energy Star for New Homes qualified, featuring third-party verification and up to 20 per cent energy savings (over homes built to Ontario Building Code minimum standards).

“Geranium has been building new neighbourhoods in Port Hope since 1999,” says Stephanie Lane, manager, sales and marketing. “The town offers a different pace of life and the ideal combination of urban experiences within a rural setting, which is why more people are moving here.”

Geranium Homes is the Housing Division of Geranium Corporation, one of Ontario’s few fully integrated land development and building companies. For 38 years, Geranium has taken numerous master-planned communities from conception to completion creating neighbourhoods with families in mind and establishing a solid reputation for quality design and construction. Geranium is the recipient of the industry’s 2014 Places to Grow Community of the Year Award, and in 2012, the Home Builder of The Year and Canadian Home Builder Association’s Grand Sam awards.
