This year Geranium Homes planted more seeds of community spirit as their “Neighbourhoods in Bloom” gardening event continues to grow.
What began as a way to assist new Cardinal Point homeowners with starting up their gardens and landscaping, has now blossomed into a much anticipated event at three of the Geranium Communities. Along with The Neighbourhoods of Cardinal Point, the event was also held at The Verandas of Port Hope and Pickering’s Courts of South Rouge.

The Verandas of Port Hope gardening event served as a wonderful opportunity for people to get to know their neighbours.
New homeowners are invited to exchange “Geranium Dollars” for a terrific assortment of evergreens, flowering shrubs, perennials and colourful mums. The day is geared toward helping new homeowners not only get a solid start on their gardens, but to give them the opportunity to get to know each other. Rain or shine the neighbours have fun chatting and choosing colourful blooms for their new gardens.
As Geranium Homes treat guests to perennial plants and colourful annual flowers to add to their gardens, Terra Greenhouses are on hand with advice on planting and after care. With purchases in hand, homeowners return home to plant their new gardens assisted by Geranium staff and using wheelbarrows, shovels and top soil the company provided for the occasion.
In the afternoon, the entire community gets together for fun at the annual Barbecue In The Park. The perfect ending to a great day!
“At Geranium Homes we believe that it is important to provide homeowners with the opportunity to meet their neighbours both before and after their move-in date,” says marketing director Sue Webb Smith. “We have a great group of people living here and these events give newcomers the opportunity to see for themselves what life in this beautiful community is all about.”
